John Daly II and Co. Stopped From Teeing Up as Puerto Rico Open Faces Unexpected Delay

The start of the third round at the 2026 Puerto Rico Open faced a brief delay due to unfavorable weather conditions on Saturday morning. Earlier weather forecasts had suggested there was roughly a 50% chance that conditions could become unplayable, leaving uncertainty about whether play would begin on schedule.

As players, including John Daly II, prepared to begin their rounds, officials announced that tee times would be pushed back slightly because of the weather. The update confirmed that the round would be delayed by 10 minutes, with the new start time set for 8:00 a.m. local time.

The delay resulted in minor adjustments to the day’s tee schedule. Marcelo Rozo and Miles Russell were originally scheduled to begin their round at 6:50 a.m. EST. Following the adjustment, their tee time moved to 7:00 a.m. EST.

Later in the day, John Daly II was set to play alongside Beau Hossler. Their tee time also shifted slightly, moving from 12:00 p.m. EST to 12:10 p.m. EST.

At the moment, the weather has only caused a short 10-minute delay, and tournament organizers expect the rest of the schedule to proceed normally once play begins. The slight adjustment ensures that players can start the round safely while officials continue to monitor the conditions on the course.
