330ft Mega-Tsunami Triggered by Ancient Asteroid Explosion

Scientists have confirmed that the **Silverpit crater structure in the North Sea was caused by an asteroid impact about 43 million years ago. 🌍☄️

The asteroid strike created a huge crater and immediately triggered a tsunami about 330 feet high, powerful enough to reshape the seabed around the area. Researchers used seismic mapping to settle a long-standing debate about whether the crater was formed by volcanic activity or an asteroid impact.

Scientists say water and rock shot upward after the collision, then rushed back with enormous force, causing smaller craters and scars on the seafloor. The tsunami was even taller than the Statue of Liberty, showing how violent ancient Earth events could be. 🌊📚
