Tiger Woods recently teamed up with World No. 1 female golfer Nelly Korda to film a golf tutorial for TaylorMade Golf on YouTube. Before they began demonstrating shots, Woods made a striking statement by calling Korda “one of the best players to ever live,” showing immense respect for her accomplishments.
Woods, who turned professional in 1996, has amassed 82 PGA Tour victories and 41 European Tour titles over the course of his career. With 15 major championship wins, he holds a career Grand Slam, having won each of the four major tournaments multiple times.
Nelly Korda, who currently holds the top spot in the women’s world golf rankings, has also built an impressive resume. She has won 15 LPGA Tour titles and secured two major championships. Additionally, she has earned three victories on the Ladies European Tour, with notable wins at the 2019 Lacoste Ladies Open de France and the 2023 Aramco Team Series in London.
In the YouTube video, Woods and Korda focused on improving the short game, specifically shots within 100 yards. Woods introduced the segment by saying, “We’re here in the 100 yards and in, part of the program, and I’m here with one of the best players to ever live, Nelly. And we’re gonna hit some shots from 89 to 113 yards.”
Throughout the tutorial, both golfers demonstrated different techniques for handling short shots, with special emphasis on adapting to wind conditions. Woods asked Korda how she adjusts her shots when wind is a factor, to which Korda responded by explaining and visually demonstrating how she alters her swing and approach based on wind strength and direction.
Woods frequently praised Korda for her shot execution, and in return, Korda referred to Woods as the “GOAT,” acknowledging his legendary status in the sport.
As for Woods’ 2025 season, it has been a difficult start. He has yet to participate in a PGA Tour event this year. Although he was scheduled to compete in the 2025 Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, he withdrew shortly before the tournament due to the passing of his mother.
Following this personal tragedy, Woods shared a statement on Instagram explaining that he wasn’t ready to return to competitive play. Not long afterward, he revealed that he suffered a leg injury while practicing at home. The injury required tendon repair surgery on his left Achilles, which was performed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Woods confirmed that the surgery was successful, and he is now focusing on rest and rehabilitation, with expectations for a full recovery.
