Surf Forecast: Cyclone to Dish Out Pumping Surf for East Oz

Tropical Cyclone Vaianu is already generating strong easterly swell toward Australia and will continue over the next few days. As it moves south between Fiji and New Zealand, it is expected to weaken into an extratropical system. During this transition, its wind field will spread out, increasing its ability to produce larger and more consistent waves.

This will lead to steady, clean, and well-formed swells hitting Queensland and New South Wales. With favorable weather conditions, the surf is expected to remain smooth and undisturbed, providing ideal surfing conditions along Australia’s east coast for several day
