Sanders had an impressive 2024 season statistically. Over 12 games, he led the Big 12 in completions (337), completion percentage (74.2%), passing yards (3,926), and passing touchdowns (35). Despite his strong numbers, some critics noted that his game tape didn’t always match the stats. Nevertheless, Sanders has solidified himself as a top quarterback prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft, though the class lacks a clear standout compared to the previous year. Unlike 2024 prospects like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels, the 2025 class doesn’t feature a definitive top quarterback. Sanders, alongside Cam Ward, Jalen Milroe, and Drew Allar, showcases talent but also has noticeable weaknesses.
Both Sanders and Hunter contributed to Colorado’s rise into the top 25 teams in the nation. While Hunter’s Heisman chances appear stronger, Sanders’ placement in the top 10 highlights his remarkable season. Although he won’t claim the trophy on Saturday, finishing among the nation’s best players could positively impact his draft stock.
