The seeding is wrong”: Joel Klatt calls out Committee’s decision to put Texas ahead of Ryan Day’s Ohio State

As the College Football Playoff approaches, there has been significant debate over the selection committee’s decisions. According to Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt, Ohio State, ranked No. 8, is viewed as a stronger team compared to Texas, Penn State, and Notre Dame. Klatt highlights Ohio State’s victories over Penn State and Indiana, as well as their narrow loss to No. 1 Oregon, as evidence of their strength. He dismisses their recent loss to Michigan as an outlier.

Klatt also argues that Texas may be receiving an undeserved advantage, given that they have not defeated any currently ranked top 25 teams. He suggests that the committee is placing more emphasis on win-loss records rather than overall team quality. Texas finished the season with 11 wins, compared to Ohio State’s 10.

Ohio State is set to play against the No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers in their opening postseason game on December 21. The game will be held at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, with a kickoff at 8 p.m. ET, broadcast on ABC and ESPN. This will be the second meeting between these two programs, with their last encounter occurring in 1996 when Tennessee beat Ohio State 20-13 in the Citrus Bowl.
