Ruben Amorim told he has to be ‘ruthless’ if he wants to be succesful at Man Utd

Neil Ruddock has advised Ruben Amorim, the newly appointed Manchester United manager, to be decisive and clear out older players if he wants to revive the club’s fortunes. Amorim, replacing Erik ten Hag, faces the daunting task of restoring United to the top of English football—a challenge Ruddock insists requires a long-term strategy.

Ruddock’s comments suggest that Amorim needs to build a youthful squad, identifying players aged 30 and above who might not fit into United’s future plans. According to Ruddock, the process of rebuilding the club will take three to four years, emphasizing that patience and ruthlessness in decision-making are key to laying the foundation for sustained success.

Amorim has already introduced fresh ideas at United, evident in tactical changes and player performances. The Portuguese coach also faces high expectations as United prepare for an upcoming clash with Arsenal, a critical test early in his tenure.
