My Daddy Is Famous” – Novak Djokovic’s Loving Wife Reveals How Their Children Acknowledge the Legacy and Playfully Boast About It

Novak Djokovic, the tennis superstar, has always prioritized being a dedicated father, and this year he expressed that commitment in a unique way. After his victory at Wimbledon, Djokovic celebrated by mimicking playing the violin with his racket, a special nod to his daughter Tara, who had spent the summer taking violin lessons. Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, has also shed light on how their children understand his fame and how it impacts their lives, sometimes playfully boasting about their father’s global recognition.

Jelena, who has been a steadfast supporter of her husband both on and off the court, currently leads the Novak Djokovic Foundation, overseeing projects that align with their family’s values. Recently, she spoke about the challenges their children face due to Novak’s demanding career. The kids, Stefan and Tara, don’t have a consistent sense of home because of their father’s frequent travel, but they are starting to grasp the significance of his work. Jelena shared, “Both Stefan and Tara understand that their father is a hard worker and someone who is highly respected. They see it when they travel and meet many fans, and they notice the attention he receives.” She added that, on occasion, they would say, “My daddy is famous,” which she views as childish boasting but acknowledges they are learning the deeper meaning through the family’s foundation work. Novak hopes his influence helps change the world for children, a vision his children are gradually coming to understand.

Despite his busy schedule, Djokovic longs to spend more time with his family, including his wife, kids, and parents. When asked if his children truly understand the magnitude of his achievements, Djokovic admitted that he wasn’t sure. He emphasized that he wants to be more than just a tennis icon in their eyes. “It is important they see me as a father in the real sense of the word,” he said. “I want to be there with them at home, following the routine—helping them go to bed, waking them up, taking them to school, talking about life, and playing with them. That’s the father I want to be, not the ‘Novak Djokovic’ the world knows outside.”

Djokovic frequently shares his love for spending time with his children and their shared hobbies. One of his favorite activities is playing music with them. Tara plays the violin, Stefan enjoys the guitar, and Djokovic himself plays the saxophone. These family jam sessions, which sometimes last for hours, are a treasured part of their daily routine or travels. In a recent interview, Djokovic said, “Tara has been playing the violin for about six months, and we agreed that I would celebrate in that way at Wimbledon. That was for her.”

He added that their family’s love for music might have contributed to his success, humorously attributing his 24th Grand Slam win at the US Open to their musical bond. Whether it’s jamming together or traveling with their instruments, these shared moments not only bring the family closer but also inspire Djokovic’s continued passion on the court.
