3 Reasons why Roman Reigns rejected a reunion with Jey Uso on WWE SmackDown

In the latest edition of WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso found themselves outnumbered when The Bloodline, now consisting of Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, launched an attack on them in the final moments of the show. Earlier in the night, Roman Reigns, referred to as The Original Tribal Chief, and Jimmy had a segment where Jimmy proposed reuniting with Jey Uso. Jimmy believed they needed Jey to help combat Sikoa’s faction. However, Roman Reigns firmly rejected this idea, responding with a defiant “No Yeet!”

Here are three potential reasons why Roman Reigns turned down the proposal to reunite with Jey Uso:

#3. Roman Reigns hasn’t forgiven Jey Uso for his betrayal.

One of the key reasons Roman might have rejected the idea of bringing Jey back into the fold could be due to Jey’s betrayal during Roman’s reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Jey was the one who initially stepped away from The Bloodline, choosing to go against Roman, a move that likely still lingers in the Tribal Chief’s mind. While Jimmy Uso also betrayed Roman at one point, he reconciled with him soon after. In contrast, Jey distanced himself from the family and moved to RAW to pursue his singles career. This unresolved tension likely influenced Roman’s decision not to reunite with Jey, as he has not forgotten the betrayal.

#2. Roman Reigns believes he doesn’t need Jey Uso

Even though Roman has been outnumbered by the new Bloodline faction, he felt that Jimmy Uso’s return at Bad Blood 2024 provided him with enough backup to face the new threat. Jimmy’s suggestion to bring Jey back into the picture was rejected because Roman doesn’t feel he needs Jey in this fight. His sentiment is consistent with the way he handled the situation when he partnered with Cody Rhodes, where he insisted he didn’t need help from The American Nightmare to deal with his family issues. Given Jey’s previous betrayal, it’s possible that Roman doesn’t trust or see the need for him in this battle against the new faction.

#1. WWE is likely extending The Bloodline storyline

The ongoing Bloodline saga is still developing, and WWE seems to be taking its time to let this storyline evolve. By having Roman reject the idea of reuniting with Jey, WWE creates an opportunity to stretch the story further. Jey Uso is currently holding the Intercontinental Championship on RAW, and before he can get fully involved in the Bloodline drama again, WWE might want to resolve his title picture. This strategic delay could allow WWE to build more tension and set the stage for future twists in the family feud. Roman’s rejection might be a way to buy time for this larger narrative to unfold.

In summary, Roman Reigns’ decision to reject the idea of reuniting with Jey Uso likely stems from personal and storyline reasons, including lingering resentment, confidence in his current allies, and WWE’s long-term plans for The Bloodline saga.
