“I started to feel dizzy, not very good, it was getting worse & worse” – When Rafael Nadal was met with boos after mid-match retirement in Miami

In the second round of the 2016 Miami Open, Rafael Nadal had to retire from his match against Damir Dzumhur due to health issues. Nadal explained that he began feeling dizzy and unwell toward the end of the first set, and as the match progressed, his condition worsened. Despite wanting to continue, Nadal ultimately decided to withdraw for the sake of his health. His decision to retire mid-match, however, led to boos from the crowd, who may not have fully understood the severity of his situation. Reflecting on the moment, Nadal shared that although he felt he was playing well, his physical condition left him with no choice but to stop, as his health was his main concern.
