Leeds player at Thorp Arch today for treatment on injury as Daniel Farke wants him back vs Sheffield United

Leeds United have about 10 days to recover some of their injured players before facing Sheffield United, following a 2-2 draw at Sunderland. Leeds traveled to the Stadium of Light without several key players, yet nearly secured a win before a late error by goalkeeper Illan Meslier. Although Leeds manager Daniel Farke may be frustrated with many players currently on international duty, the break offers a much-needed opportunity for the squad to reset.

Leeds had a tough final week before the international break, losing both Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev to long-term knee injuries. Additionally, Manor Solomon, Max Wober, and Dan James have each missed at least the last four matches, leaving Leeds with a depleted bench.

Despite being named in Israel’s squad for their upcoming matches against France and Italy, Solomon will not be joining them. Leeds have confirmed that he has stayed back to receive treatment for his injury. Farke is hopeful that Solomon will return for the match against Sheffield United, having previously suggested there was a chance he would be back for the Sunderland game.

There was some confusion on social media regarding Solomon’s status, but recent reports clarify that he has been at Leeds’ training ground, Thorp Arch, receiving treatment. It is hoped that he is nearing the end of his recovery and can participate in a full week of training ahead of the next match.

The potential return of both Solomon and Dan James is seen as a major boost for Leeds. James had suffered a hamstring injury in August and was set to return last month before aggravating the injury. Having both players back would provide Farke with greater depth on the wings, especially as Leeds have lacked options off the bench recently when their attacking players, like Largie Ramazani, Brenden Aaronson, and Wilfried Gnonto, have tired late in games. Their return would significantly improve Leeds’ options, particularly against Sheffield United, who boast the best defense and remain unbeaten in the division.
