“Probably Kill Me”: Simone Biles Impressed With Rival NFL Star Despite Hate From Chicago Bears’ Fans

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have captured fans’ hearts with their public displays of affection and mutual support. The Chicago Bears safety showed his dedication by cheering Biles on during her third Olympic appearance in Paris, while Biles has also supported Owens by attending several of his games, though less frequently now due to her busy schedule with the Gold Over America Tour.

During an interview on the October 3 episode of Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, Biles was asked if there were any NFL players besides her husband who impressed her. To the surprise of many, Biles admitted she was impressed by Jordan Love, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, calling him a breakout star. This revelation was notable since Owens had played for the Packers before joining the Chicago Bears this season, and the Packers and Bears have one of the longest-standing rivalries in the NFL.

Biles faced some backlash from Bears fans for attending a preseason game wearing a jacket featuring images of Owens in his Packers No. 34 jersey, despite the wholesome nature of her support. Heyward noted the potential controversy of her admiration for a Packers player, but Biles explained that even after leaving a team, there remains respect for it. She praised her husband for breaking stigmas, noting that he entered the NFL as an undrafted player from a Division II school and has since made it to his seventh year in the league. Owens also contributes to the community through the Jonathan Owens Foundation, which hosts football camps for underserved youth, giving them exposure to different career paths and hands-on experiences.

In addition to Jordan Love, Biles expressed admiration for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. She called Mahomes a “freak of nature” and marveled at his ability to lead comebacks, calling him a miracle worker. Mahomes, the youngest player to win both a Super Bowl title and league MVP, has left a lasting impression on Biles.

Interestingly, Biles has also gained a fan in Mahomes’ 3-year-old daughter, Sterling. Sterling’s mother, Brittany Mahomes, shared an Instagram story showing the toddler in a leotard and backpack on her first day of gymnastics, hinting that Sterling might follow in Biles’ footsteps.

While Biles’ comments on other NFL players could stir debate, she remains steadfast in supporting her husband on and off the field. Despite any online backlash, she continues to be a proud supporter of both Owens and the Chicago Bears.
