2024 Grant Thornton Invitational: Ambassadors of the $4M event Explored

The 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational, set for December 13-15, is a unique three-day golfing event featuring mixed teams of PGA and LPGA Tour players. The tournament, hosted at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, offers a total prize pool of $4 million. 16 teams will compete across three formats: Scramble, Foursomes, and Modified Four-ball. Prominent players like Nelly Korda, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, and others are also brand ambassadors for the event. Proceeds from the event benefit various charitable causes, including Warriors of Collier County and Golisano Children’s Hospital. The event’s second edition continues its focus on inclusivity, charity, and showcasing both men’s and women’s talents on the same stage.

With equal opportunity and visibility for players, this will be a great stage to participate. However, major names participating in the tournament aren’t the only things to consider. As the brand’s ambassador list is also unique, having some of the greatest players in golf.

The brand ambassadors are helping to lead towards change on and off the course. At the top of the list, we have Korda sisters, i.e. Nelly Korda and Jessica Korda. Nelly Korda is currently the world no. 1. Along with them, there is another LPGA player, Mel Reid, who completes the list of LPGA Tour brand ambassadors.

 

Tony Finau, ranked 26th in the PGA Tour, is a brand ambassador for the Grant Thornton Invitational. He emphasized the event’s focus on growing the game and improving local communities. Alongside Finau, Rickie Fowler and Cameron Champ are also ambassadors. Additionally, ESPN’s Michael Wilbon, co-host of ‘Pardon the Interruption,’ expressed his excitement about the co-ed format, highlighting the inclusion of both top men’s and women’s players. Beyond the tournament itself, the event encourages players’ involvement in charitable initiatives.
