Josuha Guilavogui shares if he thinks Leeds United are a better team than Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United

Sheffield United climbed to the top of the Championship table on Tuesday night, overtaking Leeds United, who had briefly held the top spot following Wilfried Gnonto’s late winner against Swansea City. Leeds had an opportunity to regain the lead with their match against Luton at Elland Road on Wednesday, but Sheffield United seized their chance to extend their lead by defeating Oxford United 3-0 at Bramall Lane.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Sunderland and Burnley were also in action. Burnley secured a solid 2-0 win over Coventry City, maintaining a clean sheet. Coventry, still searching for a new manager, has been linked with Frank Lampard, who is reportedly in talks with the club. Meanwhile, Sunderland, dealing with injuries and suspensions, extended their streak of draws. Their Tuesday match against West Brom ended 0-0, marking their fifth draw in November.

French midfielder Josuha Guilavogui, who recently joined Leeds United, shared his thoughts on the competition with Sheffield United. Guilavogui emphasized that Leeds are not inferior to Sheffield United but acknowledged their rivals’ ability to secure wins. He pointed to Sheffield United’s victory at Bristol City, where Leeds managed only a draw. Guilavogui also highlighted the importance of Leeds improving their away form and leveraging the experience of senior players to achieve promotion.

The rivalry between Leeds and Sheffield United is particularly intense this season. Leeds handed Sheffield United their first defeat of the campaign earlier in the season, winning 2-0 at Elland Road with goals from Pascal Struijk and Mateo Joseph.

Comparing their results against nine common opponents this season, Leeds and Sheffield United have shown striking similarities. In six of those games, both teams recorded identical outcomes. However, Leeds fared better in two instances, including their 4-3 victory over Swansea City. On the other hand, Sheffield United showed their edge by beating Bristol City, where Leeds had drawn, and achieving a 2-0 win over Luton Town, a result Leeds would likely welcome in their upcomingmatch.
