NEW ORLEANS, April 26, 2025 – The Zurich Classic of New Orleans just got a whole lot more exciting, as relative unknowns Isaiah Salinda and Kevin Velo continue their stunning run, holding the top spot on the leaderboard heading into the final round.
After opening with a blistering 58 in the four-ball format, the duo followed up with a composed 69 in Friday’s alternate shot round. Now, with a combined 17-under-par (127), they’ve turned heads across the golf world—outshining even the biggest names in the field.
The chasing pack is tight. Just one shot behind are Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin, who stayed consistent with rounds of 62 and 66. Right behind them, the talented Højgaard twins, Rasmus and Nicolai, are sitting at 15-under (129) after a strong start but a slower second round.
Meanwhile, defending champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are six strokes adrift at 11-under (133). Their hopes for a repeat are dimming unless they can pull off something spectacular on Sunday.
The final round will return to the thrilling four-ball format, giving all teams one last shot to go low and chase down the leaders.
Can the underdogs hold on? Or will the stars come storming back? One thing’s for sure – the stage is set for a thrilling Sunday finish at TPC Louisiana.
