Albuquerque, NM – April 15, 2025 — A New Mexico man known for his striking appearance, including wearing lipstick during the alleged incidents, has been arrested and charged with two high-profile arson attacks. The FBI confirmed that 40-year-old Jamison Wagner is facing federal charges for the deliberate firebombing of a Tesla dealership and the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters.
The attacks, which occurred in February and March, shocked local communities and sparked widespread online debate due to the unusual presentation of the suspect and the politically charged nature of the targets. Security footage captured a masked individual, with visible lipstick and dark clothing, tossing incendiary devices and spray-painting hate-filled graffiti at both scenes.
Following a coordinated investigation, federal agents searched Wagner’s home, uncovering homemade explosive materials, spray paint matching the graffiti, and other items connecting him to both crime scenes.
“This was not random. These were targeted acts meant to instill fear and damage property,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi, who emphasized the seriousness of the charges. “There will be no plea deal. Crimes have consequences.”
Wagner has been formally charged with two counts of malicious destruction of property by fire or explosives and faces up to 40 years in federal prison if convicted.
The incidents have triggered intense engagement online, with many users highlighting concerns over increasing domestic extremism, political targeting, and the use of social media to radicalize individuals.
The FBI has not yet disclosed Wagner’s specific motives but confirmed that the attacks appear ideologically driven. Meanwhile, local and national political figures have called for increased protections and condemnations of violence across party lines.
