The Paris Masters is one of the most prestigious titles on the ATP tour, but it hasn’t been easy for even the greatest players to win. Notably, Roger Federer has only won the title once, in 2011, while Rafael Nadal has never claimed it despite his overall success in Paris.
As the 2024 edition approaches, we highlight seven men who have lifted the trophy multiple times.
**4) Tom Okker – 2 titles**
Known as the “Flying Dutchman,” Okker was a remarkable player who never won a Grand Slam. He became the first Paris Masters champion in 1969 by defeating Butch Buchholz in straight sets and secured his second title in 1975 after a five-set victory over Arthur Ashe.
**4) Brian Gottfried – 2 titles**
Another former world No. 3, Gottfried won the Paris Masters twice. He first lifted the trophy in 1974 against Eddie Dibbs in four sets and then claimed his second title in 1980 by defeating Adriano Panatta.
**4) Andre Agassi – 2 titles**
Agassi, one of tennis’s most iconic figures, won the title in the 1990s. His first victory came in 1994 against Marc Rosset, followed by a win over Marat Safin in 1999.
**4) Pete Sampras – 2 titles**
The legendary American player Sampras also won the tournament twice. He first triumphed in 1995 against Boris Becker and secured his second title in 1997 by defeating Jonas Bjorkman.
**2) Boris Becker – 3 titles**
Becker, who lost to Sampras in the 1995 final, had already set a tournament record with three wins. He won his first title in 1986, followed by victories in 1989 and 1992 against Stefan Edberg and Guy Forget, respectively.
**2) Marat Safin – 3 titles**
The Paris Masters was Safin’s most successful tournament, where he won three titles in five appearances. After losing in the 1999 final, he won his first title in 2000, followed by wins in 2002 and 2004.
**1) Novak Djokovic – 7 titles**
Djokovic leads the list with an impressive seven titles. He first won in 2009 against Gael Monfils and later reclaimed the title in 2013 against David Ferrer, followed by victories over Milos Raonic and Andy Murray in 2014 and 2015. After a brief setback in 2018, he won again in 2019 and then defeated Daniil Medvedev in 2021. After suffering another final defeat in 2022, he bounced back to claim his seventh title in 2023 against Grigor Dimitrov.
