Pressure mounts for Junior Bula Boys

The strain is increasing, according to Marika Rodu, coach of the Fiji Junior Bula Boys Under 19 squad, particularly in light of the two teams that competed for the nation in the OFC U19 Championship the previous year and the year before.
When they play their first opponents on Friday, according to Rodu, their task is to remain composed, confident, and serene.
He continues by saying that although they are anxious, controlling their feelings is essential to winning this competition.
“We should go there and focus on our performance first and we will take each game at a time since there is always pressure on us to do our best and continue with some degree of consistency.”

Rodu adds that it was hectic trying to find the right mix of boys, and this has always been a challenge.

He says the local competitions have moulded the players well, making selection quite difficult.

The Digicel Junior Bula Boys U19 were farewelled at the Fiji Football Ba Academy today.

They will face Tahiti first on Friday at 11.45am in Apia, Samoa.
