Stefon Diggs Sparks Bills Reunion Rumors With Cryptic Instagram Move

Stefon Diggs Sparks Buffalo Bills Reunion Rumors With Instagram Move

The Buffalo Bills made headlines when they traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans last offseason. The deal surprised many, as Buffalo absorbed over $31 million in dead money and took a $4 million cap hit to part ways with quarterback Josh Allen’s top target. Along with Diggs, the Bills sent Houston a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick, receiving only a 2025 second-rounder in return.

For years leading up to the trade, there had been ongoing tensions between Diggs and the Bills organization. On March 30, 2024, Diggs responded to a fan’s tweet suggesting Allen didn’t necessarily need an elite receiver to succeed. Diggs simply replied, “You sure?” The next day, he was traded.

Despite the split, the move appeared to work out for both sides. The Bills secured their fifth consecutive AFC East title and advanced to the AFC Championship Game, coming within one win of the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Diggs was performing at a high level in Houston, on pace for another 1,000-yard season before suffering a season-ending injury after eight games.

Now entering the 2025 offseason as a free agent, speculation has grown regarding Diggs’ next destination. Some fans believe a return to Buffalo might be possible.

Diggs Unhides His Buffalo Bills Photos on Instagram

Diggs, known for periodically deleting all his Instagram posts in the offseason, took a different approach this time. In March 2025, he reinstated several photos of himself in a Bills uniform, which immediately sparked speculation among fans about a possible reunion.

Following his trade, Diggs had previously liked a post calling Bills Mafia “the worst fanbase.” However, many fans remain open to his return. One supporter posted, “I’d take Diggs back to be WR1 all day.” Another commented, “I’d take Diggs back in an instant if he wanted back. He did a ton of good for this team. Sometimes you just have to take some time away to realize how good it really was.”

Not all fans shared the same sentiment. Some expressed concerns about his age and injury history, especially after he tore his ACL. One fan wrote, “I SERIOUSLY do not want him back. Nevermind the circumstances of how he left, he’s coming off an ACL tear. We should know from watching both Tre and Von’s recovery that he won’t be playing at 100% probably at all this season. (If ever again, considering his age).” Another simply stated, “Hard pass.”

Diggs Publicly Supported Josh Allen’s MVP Campaign

Despite his departure from Buffalo, Diggs showed support for his former quarterback during the 2024 season. Allen played the best football of his career, leading to his first AP MVP award. On December 17, 2024, Diggs made an appearance on Good Morning Football and spoke highly of Allen’s performance.

“Somebody had said something to me on Twitter [about Allen winning MVP],” Diggs said. “And I was like ‘he definitely should be winning. He’s been balling. Obviously, it’s no secret that Josh Allen is amazing.’

“As far as seeing him game in, game out, he’s making those plays. It’s not new to me at all… It’s just respect coming full circle. He’s finally getting the credit he deserves.”

As the 2025 offseason unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Diggs and the Bills will consider a reunion.
