NHL Roundup: Bruins Rally to Beat Panthers, Penguins Edge Golden Knights in OT

It was a thrilling night in the NHL as the Boston Bruins staged a comeback win against the Florida Panthers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins outlasted the Vegas Golden Knights in overtime.

Bruins Overcome Two-Goal Deficit to Defeat Panthers 3-2

The Boston Bruins fought back from a 2-0 deficit to secure a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers. Florida controlled the game early, with Dmitry Kulikov scoring in the first period and Matthew Samoskevich doubling the lead on a power play early in the third.

However, Boston responded in the final 11 minutes. David Pastrnak struck on the power play, followed by Mason Lohrei leveling the score five minutes later. The comeback was complete when Pavel Zacha netted the game-winner with just over three minutes left.

The win moves the playoff-chasing Bruins within two points of eighth place in the Eastern Conference, while Florida saw its six-game winning streak snapped but remains second in the East.

Penguins Edge Golden Knights 3-2 in OT

The Pittsburgh Penguins secured a 3-2 overtime victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Sidney Crosby opened the scoring on a first-period power play and added another early in the second.

Vegas fought back, with Pavel Dorofeyev cutting the deficit in the second period and Noah Hanifin forcing overtime with just seven seconds left in regulation. But Erik Karlsson played hero for Pittsburgh, scoring just 49 seconds into OT to seal the win.

The Penguins, still near the bottom of the East, need a winning streak to stay in the race, while Vegas, now on a two-game losing streak, remains third in the West.

Looking Ahead

With the playoff picture tightening, both Boston and Pittsburgh will look to build momentum in their upcoming games.
