Florida State Offensive Lineman Confident in Seminoles’ 2025 Offense

Florida State football didn’t have the season it hoped for in 2024. After an undefeated regular season and conference championship in 2023, many expected the Seminoles to maintain that success. Instead, they ended with a disappointing 2-10 record, prompting head coach Mike Norvell to make significant changes — especially to the struggling offense, which ranked among the worst in college football.

The Seminoles aim to return to their reputation as a program built for elite playmakers, but last season, those playmakers struggled to create opportunities both in the air and on the ground. To address these issues, Florida State brought in former UCF head coach Gus Malzahn as the new offensive coordinator. Malzahn’s history of building strong running games could help, but questions remain about the passing attack — particularly with Boston College transfer Thomas Castellanos and redshirt sophomore Brock Glenn competing for the starting quarterback spot.

Speaking to the media recently, offensive tackle transfer Gunnar Hansen expressed strong confidence in the offense’s potential, boldly claiming Florida State will have the best offense in college football in 2025.

While some may see this as an overstatement, Hansen’s confidence reflects the mindset the team wants to embrace. After a disastrous 2024, Florida State fans are understandably cautious about setting high expectations. Currently, FanDuel Sportsbook sets Florida State’s preseason win total at 7.5 games, a reminder that the program is used to competing for championships — not just qualifying for bowl games.

There’s potential for the Seminoles to field a top-50 offense, especially if Castellanos’ mobility or Glenn’s passing ability develops as hoped. However, to crack the top 25, the passing game must exceed expectations.

Ultimately, Hansen’s bold claim can be seen as the confidence of a veteran player determined to set a new tone for the program.
