Rafael Nadal’s wife Maria pregnant with second child: Reports

Rafael Nadal and his wife, Maria Francisca Perello, are reportedly expecting their second child. This exciting development comes less than five months after Nadal officially retired from professional tennis. The Spanish legend concluded his career in November 2024 at the Davis Cup Finals, held in Malaga, Spain, where he received heartfelt support from his family—his parents, sister, wife Maria, and their two-year-old son were all present for his emotional farewell.

According to Spanish magazine Semana, Maria Francisca Perello was recently seen in Mallorca wearing an all-black outfit that revealed a baby bump. The couple, who reside on the island, are said to have shared the joyful news with their close family and friends. Their most recent public appearance was at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards during the last week of March.

Rafael Nadal and Maria have been together since 2005 and got married in October 2019 after 14 years of dating. They welcomed their first child, a son named Rafa Jr., in October 2022. During the final season of Nadal’s career, his son was frequently seen attending his matches, creating cherished memories for the tennis star.

Nadal has previously spoken about wanting to start a family after retiring from professional tennis. However, he also expressed how deeply meaningful it was to have his young son watch him play during his final matches. At the 2024 Madrid Open, Nadal shared that being a father and returning home to see his son gave him a feeling unlike anything else. Even though his son may not fully understand what happened on the court, Nadal described those moments as unforgettable and deeply personal.

Since stepping away from tennis, Nadal has turned his attention to other interests, including golf and soccer. He remains involved in the sport through his academy and continues to inspire young athletes. He also made an appearance at the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals in December, staying connected to the tennis community and offering his support to the next generation of players.
