David Pastrnak of the Boston Bruins is focused on winning the Stanley Cup, despite having an outstanding individual season. On Tuesday night, he reached the 100-point milestone for the third consecutive year, contributing a goal and two assists in the Bruins’ dominant 7-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils.
With 41 goals and 59 assists in 79 games, Pastrnak’s play has been exceptional, but he remains focused on the team’s success. “Obviously, very honored — it’s not easy in this league,” Pastrnak said. “But at the same time, I feel like that’s my job. I wish it would be under better circumstances. It’s good, but nothing changes for me. There is only one thing that I’m chasing (Stanley Cup).”

The Bruins, however, are struggling, sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic Division with a 32-38-9 record and having lost 10 of their last 13 games. Pastrnak acknowledged the team’s performance but was pleased with their recent win. “Good win for our group, especially after their push back in the second,” he noted. “They came back, we took a time out and regrouped, extended the lead, so great stuff.”
In the game, Michael Callahan, Morgan Geekie, Cole Koepke, Jakub Lauko, Fraser Minten, and Casey Mittelstadt also scored for the Bruins, while goaltender Jeremy Swayman made 19 saves. For the Devils, Timo Meier and Stefan Noesen scored. New Jersey’s goaltender Jacob Markstrom was pulled after giving up seven goals on 23 shots, with Jake Allen coming in as relief.
The game unfolded with Pastrnak opening the scoring in the first period, followed by Callahan’s goal to make it 2-0. The Devils responded with two quick goals in the second, narrowing the gap to 3-2. The Bruins extended their lead in the third period with goals from Geekie, Minten, and Koepke, securing the 7-2 victory.
