Recent reports from GOAL have clarified that Cristiano Ronaldo is not currently in talks to purchase La Liga club Valencia. Although the legendary Portuguese forward has expressed interest in investing in football after retirement, the idea that his first step into club ownership will be with Valencia appears to be premature and speculative at this stage.
Ronaldo remains actively involved in professional football, playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and continuing to represent Portugal on the international stage. While he has hinted at ambitions beyond his playing days—such as possibly owning a football club—there are no substantial developments linking him to a takeover of Valencia at the moment.
Spanish publication Marca, also cited by GOAL, has stated that there are no formal negotiations underway involving Ronaldo and Valencia. The notion that he might acquire full ownership by buying out current owner Peter Lim has been dismissed as lacking any real basis. Lim, who took control of Valencia in 2014, reportedly has no intentions of selling the club at this time.
Now at 40 years old, Ronaldo remains focused on his personal achievements, including a much-discussed goal of reaching 1,000 career goals. He is expected to continue playing possibly until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with retirement plans still uncertain. For now, his attention remains firmly on his footballing career, rather than shifting into ownership or administrative roles.
In a separate development, Ronaldo has also made headlines for enhancing his personal security arrangements. Amid growing safety concerns for his family while living in Saudi Arabia, he recently appointed Claudio Miguel Vaz as his new chief bodyguard. Vaz, a Portuguese security expert known for working in high-risk environments, has previously provided protection for musicians and fellow footballers, including Rafael Leao.
Despite his credentials, Vaz’s confrontational approach has raised some concerns among Ronaldo’s inner circle. One notable incident occurred in Paris, where he reportedly used a flashlight to block photographers attempting to take pictures of Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodriguez. This behavior has led to criticism that his tactics might not align with the image Ronaldo wants to portray.
Nevertheless, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner appears determined to tighten security measures around his home and family as he continues his footballing career in the Middle East.
