Notre Dame’s 2-Sport Phenom Who Nearly Won 2 National Titles in 9 Months Gets Emotional Message From Mom

Notre Dame’s rising star, Jordan Faison, is making waves as a rare two-sport athlete, with a story that feels straight out of a Hollywood script. Recently, he played a crucial role in helping the Irish lacrosse team secure a major overtime win against Georgetown. But that’s just half of his remarkable journey. A few months earlier, he was suiting up on the football field, bouncing back from a tough loss to Northern Illinois and pushing Notre Dame’s football squad toward a potential national title. Now, this sophomore is chasing history—trying to win national championships in both lacrosse and football within the same year.

And on top of all his athletic achievements, Jordan just celebrated a major personal milestone: his 21st birthday. Born in 2005, he marked the occasion away from home due to his intense football schedule. But his mother, Kristen Faison, made sure he still felt loved from afar. She shared a touching birthday message online, saying, “Happy 21st Birthday to the young man who made me a mom. Can’t wait to celebrate with you,” along with some heartfelt encouragement to always keep faith and trust in God’s guidance.

Kristen also created a video montage to celebrate Jordan’s big day, showcasing his childhood through a collection of warm family memories—beach outings, dinners, and birthday traditions that captured a life full of joy and love. One birthday that stood out was his 13th, when a confident young Jordan blew out every candle on a towering cake in one breath, flashing a smile that hinted at the fire and determination he carries to this day.

Jordan Faison’s journey in sports is nothing short of inspiring. He has a chance to make college sports history by winning two national titles within nine months, something that would be nearly unprecedented. His story began at Pine Crest School, where his talent and drive were evident early on. According to his former lacrosse coach, George Harris, Jordan has an exceptional sense of balance—managing the demanding academics of Notre Dame while excelling in two Division I sports.

Even though he started his athletic journey at age 10, things truly took off after arriving at Notre Dame. He became the first player from Pine Crest since 2013 to play at the FBS level, an achievement that marks his place in the record books. In high school, he helped lead Pine Crest to its first football playoff appearance in over two decades, showing leadership and impact from an early age.

Jordan’s presence on the lacrosse field has been equally impressive. Upon returning to the sport, he scored a vital fourth-quarter goal that helped Notre Dame seize momentum and eventually win the game. He’s proven he can deliver in clutch moments, regardless of the season or sport.

On the football side, Jordan made a name for himself quickly during the 2023 season. In his freshman year, he tallied nine catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns, including a score in his debut game against USC. That breakout performance earned him a scholarship mid-season and solidified his reputation as a rising star.

Today, fans and experts alike are watching closely as Jordan continues to juggle both football and lacrosse, making highlight-worthy plays year-round. Whether or not he achieves the historic double-championship feat, one thing’s clear—Jordan Faison is a rare talent whose story is just beginning.
