Cowboys Coach Fires Back at Micah Parsons Trade Rumors: ‘He’s Here to Wreak Havoc

The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons are still in discussions about a new contract as the NFL Draft nears. According to reports, both parties have exchanged contract figures in multiple meetings. However, despite ongoing negotiations, there hasn’t been significant progress.

Given the nature of the Cowboys franchise, speculation has surged regarding the possibility of trading Parsons, with various scenarios being proposed. However, most analysts agree that moving on from him would severely weaken the team’s talent and is not part of the organization’s plan.

At the recent owners’ meetings, Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer dismissed the idea of Parsons leaving, emphasizing his importance to the team. “He’s an elite player. He’s someone we believe can cause problems for opposing offenses for years to come in a Cowboys uniform,” Schottenheimer stated.

The prospect of trading Parsons would undoubtedly spark outrage among Dallas fans and the broader NFL community. Yet, at this point, there is little concrete evidence to suggest that a trade is actually being considered.

Parsons’ brother, Terrance, recently mentioned in an interview that fans will be pleased with the upcoming contract. He hinted that while the deal may be structured favorably in terms of duration, the financial terms will likely place Parsons in the $40 million per year range.

Still, as long as Parsons remains unsigned, speculation will persist, with media outlets fueling trade rumors. The simplest way for the Cowboys to put an end to these discussions? Secure Parsons with a long-term contract.
