Former Alabama star Will Lowery expresses faith in Kalen DeBoer’s Crimson Tide following disappointing 9-4 season

Former Alabama DB Will Lowery Shares Optimism for Crimson Tide’s 2025 Season

Former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Will Lowery recently attended one of the team’s spring practice sessions ahead of the 2025 college football season. After watching the team in action, he shared his excitement on social media, stating that the players were bringing significant energy to practice.

Lowery took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his enthusiasm, writing:

“Had the chance to watch practice today, the boys had some serious juice out there 🧃🧃. Already pumped for next season. It’s get back time. #TIDE”

Alabama is currently engaged in spring practice, an important period for players to showcase their skills and compete for starting roles. These sessions are particularly crucial as new head coach Kalen DeBoer evaluates the roster and begins shaping the lineup for the upcoming season.

Kalen DeBoer’s First Year and the Road Ahead

DeBoer arrived at Alabama following a remarkable season with the Washington Huskies, whom he led to the College Football National Championship Game. Although Washington fell short against the Michigan Wolverines, DeBoer’s success made him a logical choice to take over the Crimson Tide after the legendary Nick Saban retired.

However, his first year in charge at Alabama was anything but smooth. The Crimson Tide struggled during the 2024 season, finishing with a 9-4 record. They suffered regular-season losses to the Vanderbilt Commodores, Tennessee Volunteers, and Oklahoma Sooners. Additionally, their campaign ended on a sour note when they fell to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, failing to qualify for the expanded College Football Playoff.

Entering the 2025 season, DeBoer faces mounting pressure to restore Alabama’s dominance. The program, long accustomed to competing for national championships, expects a swift return to title contention. However, the evolving landscape of college football presents new challenges.

The Changing Landscape of College Football

DeBoer’s task is made more difficult by the increasingly competitive nature of modern college football. The implementation of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals has created a more level playing field, allowing schools outside the traditional powerhouses to attract top talent. Programs like Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State now face stiff competition from other universities with significant financial resources.

Despite these challenges, Alabama remains one of the nation’s premier programs, and with a talented roster and a motivated coaching staff, the Crimson Tide aim to re-establish themselves as championship contenders in 2025. The upcoming season will be a crucial test for DeBo
