A players-only tennis organization, led by a prominent figure in the sport, escalated its battle for improved financial incentives and the protection of professional players’ interests by filing a class action lawsuit against multiple governing bodies on Tuesday, March 18. The legal action targets the organizations overseeing both men’s and women’s tennis, as well as those responsible for regulating international competitions and integrity matters.

Following the lawsuit, the governing body for men’s tennis swiftly issued a statement condemning the legal move. However, the executive director of the players’ association has since responded strongly, criticizing the organization on several key issues.
