Following recent reports about Tottenham and other top Premier League clubs showing interest in Morgan Gibbs-White, Nottingham Forest’s stance on the midfielder has now been revealed.
Tottenham has been focused on strengthening their midfield for the upcoming summer transfer window, and Gibbs-White has emerged as one of their primary targets. Over the past few weeks, it has been reported that clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United are also keeping an eye on the 25-year-old, who has established himself as one of the most consistent box-to-box midfielders in the Premier League in recent seasons.
Nottingham Forest, however, has made it clear that they have no intention of parting with Gibbs-White. The club is confident that if they secure a top-five finish and qualify for the Champions League, they will be able to persuade Gibbs-White to stay at the City Ground. As part of their efforts to keep him, Forest is also reportedly planning to open talks with the former Wolves midfielder to offer him a long-term contract extension, hoping to ward off interest from the Premier League’s top clubs.
However, if Gibbs-White does push for a move, Forest may be forced to consider offers, but they are not expected to entertain anything less than £70 million for the player. While several Premier League teams are reportedly interested, Newcastle United is said to have shown the strongest interest so far in acquiring the England international.
