Recently, most of the attention in the NFL has been focused on free agency, but there’s more happening in the league. The NFL Draft is fast approaching in April, and teams are preparing by attending pro days to scout top prospects.
The New York Jets, holding the No. 7 pick in the draft, are in a good position to add talent to their roster. Along with their first-round pick, the team also has other draft assets to work with. This is the first offseason with Aaron Glenn as head coach and Darren Mougey as general manager, so it will be interesting to see how the Jets approach the draft.
In a report, it was revealed that the Jets will meet with Fresno State safety Dean Clark for a top-30 visit. Clark, standing 6’1″ and weighing 206 pounds, ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash and posted a 41-inch vertical jump at his pro day. He was a two-year starter at Fresno State.
Clark, who previously played four seasons at Kent State before transferring to Fresno State for his final two years, recorded four interceptions and two sacks over the past two seasons. The Jets are in need of additional help at the safety position, so Clark could be a potential fit. Though he hasn’t received much attention this offseason, Clark has impressive size and posted nine passes defended in his last two seasons.
