Away game curse continues for the Drua

The Fijian Drua’s struggles on the road continued as they fell 38-21 to the ACT Brumbies in Canberra in Round 5 of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season. Despite a spirited second-half fightback, their first-half deficit proved too much to overcome.

The Brumbies dominated early, storming to a 28-7 halftime lead with tries from Len Ikitau, Ryan Lonergan, and Andy Muirhead, while Noah Lolesio’s boot kept the scoreboard ticking. Drua’s only response in the first half came via Elia Canakaivata’s try, converted by Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula.

Drua showed resilience in the second half, narrowing the gap to 28-21 through tries from Tevita Ikanivere and Motikiai Murray, both converted. However, the Brumbies remained composed, closing out the match with a decisive late try from Luke Reimer.

Missed conversions proved costly for Drua, highlighting an area they’ll need to improve as they search for their first road win of the season. With a crucial clash against the Western Force in Perth next weekend, the Drua must regroup fast to turn their fortunes around.

Do you think the Drua can finally break their away-game struggles against the Force?
