The PGA Tour’s broadcasting issues have once again left fans frustrated, this time at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Despite promises of fewer commercials under the new “Fan Forward” initiative, NBC’s coverage failed to capture Russell Henley’s crucial chip-in eagle on the 16th hole, opting instead for a Rolex commercial.
Fans took to social media to express their anger, with many pointing out the irony of longer ad breaks despite the supposed reduction in commercials. This isn’t the first time the Tour has been criticized for its coverage gaps—previously, the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Cognizant Classic also faced backlash for similar issues.
Part of the reason NBC didn’t get back in time for the Henley Chip may have had to do with the ⬇️ statement from earlier in the week.
