Michigan’s All-American Star Disrespects Alum Tom Brady as Will Johnson Makes Big Draft Declaration

Will Johnson Leaves Tom Brady Off His Michigan Mount Rushmore – Confidence or Disrespect?

Tom Brady — a name that defines NFL greatness. Seven-time Super Bowl champion, future Hall of Famer, commentator, and even a minority NFL team owner. Yet, despite all his accolades, rising NFL prospect Will Johnson made headlines for leaving Brady off his personal Michigan Football Mount Rushmore.

During an interview with CBS Sports, Johnson — a standout cornerback and two-time All-American — was asked to name his top four Michigan players. His picks? Charles Woodson, JJ McCarthy, Blake Corum, and Aidan Hutchinson. When asked directly if Brady made the cut, Johnson confidently replied, “No.”

While some fans may see this as a surprising snub, it likely reflects Johnson’s personal inspirations — players he’s watched closely or connected with during his time at Michigan.

Johnson’s Confidence Shines Heading into the NFL Draft

The 6’2”, 202-pound cornerback officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft in December, following a stellar college career that included 68 tackles, 9 interceptions, 19 passes defended, and three pick-sixes in 2024 alone. Projected as a top-10 pick, Johnson’s confidence isn’t limited to his college picks — he firmly believes he’s the best cornerback in the draft.

“A lot of respect to other guys, but I know I’m the best corner in this draft,” Johnson said, adding that he’s ready to let his play do the talking once he’s on the field.

Could Johnson End Up Playing for Brady’s Raiders?

With the Las Vegas Raiders, partially owned by Brady, in need of defensive reinforcements, it’s not impossible that Johnson could land with the GOAT’s team. Whether or not his Brady snub ruffles feathers, Johnson’s talent and confidence have already put him on the radar of multiple NFL teams, including the 49ers and Panthers, who met with him at the NFL Combine.

Bottom line: Will Johnson is making it clear — he’s carving his own path, whether or not that includes honoring Brady’s legacy.
