A petition on Change.org has garnered significant support to keep the course open. MacIntyre has expressed his willingness to assist, suggesting a fundraising event to support the course.

MacIntyre’s commitment to charitable causes is well-documented. During the 2023 PGA Championship, he carried a special bag featuring the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation logo, pledging donations for every birdie and eagle he made. This initiative was in honor of former Scotland rugby star Doddie Weir and aimed to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. MacIntyre stated, “Like everyone, I was inspired with the way that Doddie dealt with MND… So, if we can raise some money this week to help his Foundation continue his legacy, then that is something I will be very proud of.”
