Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly signed a one-year contract extension with Al-Nassr, extending his stay beyond the summer when his initial deal was set to expire. The Portuguese star originally joined the Saudi Pro League club in December 2022 on a two-and-a-half-year contract worth $75 million annually.
Reports suggest that Ronaldo’s extension is valued at around €200 million and includes a 5% ownership stake in the club. This deal ensures he remains the highest-paid footballer in the world.
Fans have expressed mixed reactions to the news on social media. Some criticized the move, with one fan lamenting that Ronaldo will “retire in Saudi Arabia with an empty stadium,” while another described it as a “poor decision.” Others speculated that this extension could secure his participation in the 2026 World Cup, though a return to Sporting CP now seems unlikely.

Since joining Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has been one of the league’s standout performers, scoring 82 goals and providing 19 assists in 90 appearances. He is currently the club’s third-highest all-time goalscorer, behind Abderrazak Hamdallah (112) and Mohammed Al-Salawi (121). Despite his impressive individual performances, he has yet to win a major domestic trophy with Al-Nassr, though he helped them claim the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
