Serious Doubts Cast on Ryan Day as $38M Shocker Raises Concerns After Past Demons Jeopardize OSU Future

Ryan Day may have led Ohio State to a national championship, but his future remains uncertain due to mounting financial concerns and his track record against Michigan. The Buckeyes reported a nearly $38 million deficit for 2024, with skyrocketing expenses and declining revenue. Their aggressive use of NIL deals and the transfer portal played a major role in their success, but now, financial constraints could limit future roster-building efforts.

Despite the championship win, Ohio State’s losses to Michigan loom large. The Buckeye fanbase has little tolerance for repeated defeats against their biggest rival, and Day’s 0-4 streak before the title run only intensified scrutiny. Some believe the championship has bought him time, but others argue another loss to Michigan could put his job in jeopardy.

Michigan insider Anthony Broome summed it up: “A couple more losses to Michigan, and they might run this guy out of town.” The pressure is mounting, and with Ohio State’s financial struggles, Day’s margin for error is shrinking. Can he keep winning at the highest level, or will the cost of victory prove too steep?
