USC is gearing up for a major push in 2025, with five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet leading the charge. Head coach Lincoln Riley already has an arsenal of offensive talent, including wide receivers Makai Lemon and Ja’Kobi Lane. But the Trojans could strengthen their roster even further—possibly by poaching talent from a conference rival.
Former five-star recruit Jurrion Dickey, currently at Oregon, has been underutilized by the Ducks, sparking discussions about a potential move. Despite being one of the top-ranked receivers in the 2023 class, injuries and Oregon’s deep receiving corps have limited his playing time. Now, some believe Lincoln Riley should seize the opportunity to bring the California native back home.
Dickey, once a top prospect with offers from major programs like Georgia, Tennessee, and USC, has struggled for playing time at Oregon, recording just one reception for seven yards in two seasons. A torn meniscus during his senior year of high school derailed his momentum, and even after redshirting, he hasn’t found his place in the Ducks’ lineup.
If his role remains limited, USC could make a compelling case for him to transfer. With Chad Bowden, a key recruiter from Notre Dame, now part of USC’s staff, the Trojans have an edge in the transfer portal. While Dickey has yet to declare his intent to transfer, USC would likely be at the front of the line if he does.
Lincoln Riley’s recruiting strategy prioritizes depth, meaning even if Dickey isn’t an immediate starter, he could develop into a key contributor behind Lemon and Lane. If USC makes a move and Oregon watches Dickey thrive elsewhere, the Ducks might regret not giving him a bigger role.
