Carlos Alcaraz Secures ABN AMRO Open Victory

Top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz battled past third seed Alex de Minaur with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory to claim the ABN AMRO Open title in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This win marks the World No. 3’s first tournament triumph of the year and the 17th ATP singles title of his career.

In a closely contested match, Alcaraz proved effective on serve, winning two-thirds of his first-service points (34 of 51) and an impressive 64 percent of his second serves (16 of 25). He faced five break points but managed to save three, while converting four of his eight break opportunities against de Minaur.

With the match level at 2-2 in the deciding set, Alcaraz gained control by breaking de Minaur’s serve in both the sixth and eighth games, sealing the victory on his second match point.

Denis Shapovalov Captures Dallas Open Title

In Texas, unseeded Denis Shapovalov upset second-seeded Casper Ruud 7-6 (5), 6-3 in the final to win the Dallas Open. The victory marks the Canadian’s third career ATP singles title and his second in under four months, following his breakthrough win in Belgrade last November.

Playing in an ATP 500 event for the first time at this level, Shapovalov delivered a strong performance, firing 13 aces with only two double faults. He won 72 percent of his first-service points (36 of 50). The first-set tiebreaker was tightly contested at 4-4 before Shapovalov secured three of the last four points to claim the set. He then raced to a 4-1 lead in the second set, maintaining control to close out the match.
