Arch Manning’s future secured thanks to Sarkisian’s new deal with Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns are entering a pivotal phase as they transition from Quinn Ewers to Arch Manning as their starting quarterback. Ewers, a vital part of the team for the past six seasons, leaves behind an impressive legacy despite injury setbacks. During the 2024 season, he led the Longhorns to a strong 13-3 record and a 7-1 performance in SEC play, throwing for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, and achieving a 65.8% completion rate.

As Ewers moves on to the NFL, Manning takes center stage, supported by a talented roster. One standout is Lance Jackson, a five-star recruit known for his defensive dominance. Jackson led the team in tackles and sacks and is praised for his work ethic and leadership qualities, which promise further growth in the upcoming offseason.

Another key figure in the Longhorns’ future is Kaliq Lockett, a wide receiver who recently gained five-star recruit status after an impressive performance at the Navy All-American Bowl. His smooth route running and explosive playmaking make him a valuable target for Manning.

This new chapter comes under the continued leadership of head coach Steve Sarkisian, who has signed a seven-year contract extension with a salary of $10.6 million, placing him among the highest-paid coaches in college football. Sarkisian’s guidance, coupled with the talent of Manning, Jackson, and Lockett, positions the Longhorns for an exciting and promising future in college football.
