Imma talk my shii” – Angel Reese’s Sky teammate Chennedy Carter amped over her viral overseas basketball highlight

Chennedy Carter and Angel Reese share a striking similarity: both players, known for their dynamic play with the Chicago Sky, have a knack for getting under their opponents’ skin with plenty of trash talk. Even during the WNBA offseason, Carter continues to display her fiery competitiveness, regardless of where she’s playing.

On Sunday, Carter, who earned the nickname “Hollywood” during her high school years, showcased her star power by dropping an impressive 40-point performance to lead the Wuhan Shengfan Cranes to a win in a Women’s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) game. The nickname “silent killer” could not have been further from the truth in this instance.

Carter shared highlights of her standout game through Instagram stories. In one clip, she is seen bringing the ball up the court, executing a smooth spin move to evade a defender, and sinking a pull-up three-pointer that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Alongside the video, she wrote, “yeah imma talk my shiii all 2025,” signaling her intent to maintain her bold on-court presence throughout the year.

After hitting the shot, Carter directed some heated words at her opponents, prompting her teammates to step in before tensions could rise further. Despite their efforts, no one on the Liaoning Flying Eagles could stop Carter, who finished the game with 40 points on 48.3% shooting, along with 12 rebounds, six assists, and a steal.

Performances like these have solidified Carter’s reputation among her peers. Back in August, Angel Reese, a rookie and teammate, referred to Carter as “one of the best guards in this league,” reflecting the respect Carter commands on the court.

However, their time as teammates may be nearing an end. Carter is a restricted free agent this offseason, and reports suggest she might not remain with the Chicago Sky. According to insiders, the Sky are unlikely to match any offer sheets for Carter. Instead, they are focusing on retaining other restricted free agents, such as guard Dana Evans and forward Michaela Onyenwere.

The Sky, who finished at the bottom of the Eastern Conference last season, are expected to make significant roster changes during the offseason. Carter’s potential departure appears to be one of the moves aimed at reshaping the team’s future.
