Georgia QB Carson Beck entering NCAA transfer portal: Report

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is reportedly planning to enter the NCAA transfer portal despite previously announcing his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Beck, 23, now appears to want another season in college football. During the 2024 season, he recorded 3,485 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing 64.7% of his throws for the Bulldogs, who finished the year with an 11–3 record.

In Georgia’s SEC Championship victory over Texas, Beck’s season came to an abrupt halt after he suffered an injury just before halftime. He returned briefly for the game’s final play, handing off to Trevor Etienne for a touchdown that secured the 22–19 win. However, Beck was later diagnosed with a torn UCL in his throwing elbow, which ruled him out for the remainder of the season. Without him, Georgia’s campaign ended in a 23–10 loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl during the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

Beck took over as Georgia’s starting quarterback following two consecutive national championship seasons led by Stetson Bennett. Over his two years as a starter, Beck completed 68% of his passes, amassing 7,426 yards and 52 touchdowns. His performance and experience make him a highly sought-after player, and it is expected that he will command a significant NIL deal as he looks to play his final season of college eligibility elsewhere.
