“Don’t do this to another QB”: Former Jets scout makes his stance clear on Shedeur Sanders as he gets linked to the Tennessee Titans

Shedeur Sanders, the standout quarterback from the Colorado Buffaloes, is projected to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. As an early first-round prospect, his name has been linked to the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 1 overall pick. Recently, Bleacher Report sparked discussion by editing Sanders and his teammate Travis Hunter into Titans uniforms and asking fans which player the team should prioritize.

However, former New York Jets scout Daniel Kelly strongly advised against the Titans drafting Sanders, citing the team’s struggles with developing quarterbacks. In a tweet, Kelly urged, “Please don’t do this again to another quarterback,” referencing the franchise’s difficulties in handling previous picks at the position.

The Titans’ fan base has also expressed frustration with the team’s performance. During a recent Week 18 game against the Houston Texans, some fans wore paper bags over their heads in protest. One fan’s bag featured a cutout of Sanders, symbolizing his potential as a solution to their struggles.

The Titans might be in the market for a quarterback, and besides Sanders, Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward has been floated as a potential pick. Meanwhile, the New York Giants, holding the No. 3 selection, could also be interested in Sanders. His December meeting with Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has fueled speculation about a possible move to New York.

Sanders significantly elevated his draft stock during the 2024 season with Colorado. He earned accolades including Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. Over 13 games, Sanders completed 353 of 477 passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also contributed four rushing touchdowns on 100 carries. Despite Colorado’s 9-4 record, their season ended with a 36-14 loss to BYU in the Alamo Bowl.

As the draft approaches, the debate over where Sanders will land continues to generate attention, with Tennessee and New York emerging as key potential dest

inations.
