After undergoing significant changes at cornerback before the 2024 season, the Alabama Crimson Tide is now positioned to return both of its starting cornerbacks for 2025. Domani Jackson, a key player, has confirmed that he will remain for his senior season.
In an Instagram announcement on Sunday, Jackson expressed his determination to improve upon the team’s performance, stating, “This season didn’t end how we wanted, and the job isn’t finished yet. I will be returning for the 2025 season to make my last one the best one.”
Joining him will be Zabien Brown, who is set to return for his sophomore season after starting alongside Jackson throughout 2024.
Jackson had an impressive junior season, contributing significantly to the defense. He recorded 51 tackles, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two interceptions. Reflecting on his journey, Jackson wrote, “I want to start by thanking my family. Without their love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today. To my Crimson Tide brothers – it’s been all love since day one and a blessing to share the locker room and field with y’all. I am honored to wear the crimson jersey #1 and represent the A.”
Jackson originally joined Alabama as a transfer from Southern California before the 2024 season. He quickly established himself as a critical defensive player, starting all 13 games that season. One of his most notable moments came during a crucial matchup against South Carolina, where he intercepted a pass to prevent an upset and secure a victory for Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
His decision to return aligns with similar announcements from other key Alabama players, including LT Overton, Tim Keenan III, and Deontae Lawson, who have also chosen to stay with the team instead of entering the NFL Draft. The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is January 15.
