- Rafael Nadal recently shared moments from his visit to a museum in Jeddah and discussed his experience interviewing players at the Next Gen ATP Finals. The tournament began on December 18 and will run until December 22, 2024.
After announcing his retirement from professional tennis, following his last match at the Davis Cup Finals on November 19, 2024, where he lost 4-6, 4-6 to Botic van de Zandschulp, Nadal took some time to explore the Tariqa Abdul Hakim museum in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He posted glimpses of his visit on his Instagram story, showcasing various features of the museum.
Following his museum visit, Nadal engaged in a conversation with Next Gen ATP Finals players Joao Fonseca, Jakub Mensik, and Alex Michelsen. He shared a photo with them, captioning it: “Great chatting with you guys. Good luck.”
In a post-match interview, Nadal reflected on his final match, noting that it felt like a full-circle moment since his first match in the Davis Cup also ended in a loss. He mentioned that he had come to terms with the fact that this would be his last match and preferred not to be critical of himself.
