2025 Australian Junior Surfing Titles to be held on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia

The prestigious Australian Junior Surfing Titles will be hosted in South Australia’s stunning Fleurieu Peninsula from November 23 to 30, 2025. Over 250 of Australia’s most talented junior surfers will compete at well-known surf locations such as Middleton, Victor Harbor, Waitpinga, and Parsons Beaches. The event, last held in these waters in 2018, is a major part of the Surfing Australia National Junior Series, offering 12,000 ranking points. The champions in the U16 and U18 divisions will have the honor of representing Team Irukandjis at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in 2026, making it a key event in the junior surfing pathway in Australia.

“South Australia’s pristine coastline provides excellent surfing conditions, and the Fleurieu Peninsula is the ideal venue to celebrate Australia’s young surfers and their passion,” said Luke Madden, Surfing Australia’s Chief of Sport – Events, Participation & Community. “The last time we held the Australian Junior Surfing Titles in South Australia was in 2018, and we’re grateful to the South Australian Tourism Commission and Surfing South Australia for their support in bringing this event back. The region’s connection to surfing culture and its natural beauty make it a great place to inspire the next generation of local junior surfers.”

The Fleurieu Peninsula offers a dynamic and challenging environment for competitors aiming to earn a place on the prestigious honor roll, joining current and former World Tour competitors. The region’s rugged coastlines and pristine waters, coupled with easy accessibility and a strong surfing community, make it an ideal destination. November’s mild weather conditions will ensure optimal surfing conditions for both competitors and spectators. The area’s tourism infrastructure, including accommodation, dining, and recreational activities, makes it an attractive location for competitors, families, and fans alike.

“The Australian Junior Surfing Titles belong in the Fleurieu Peninsula,” said Zoe Bettison, South Australian Minister for Tourism. “We’re excited to welcome hundreds of the country’s best junior surfers, along with their support teams and families, to our stunning beaches. South Australia has become a premier sporting destination, and hosting the event in November will further solidify this reputation.”

The Australian Junior Surfing Titles include individual divisions for U14 to U18 junior men and women, as well as a school surfing division for U16 to U19 junior men and women. Champions in the U16 and U18 divisions earn a spot on the Irukandjis team to represent Australia at the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.
