Calls Mount for Arch Manning to Transfer to Major College Football Program

Following the Texas Longhorns’ loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game, rumors began circulating about the future of quarterback Quinn Ewers, with some speculating that he might return for another season at Texas or potentially transfer. This sparked widespread debate among fans, with some even considering the possibility of Arch Manning taking over as the starter for the Longhorns in 2025.

However, a recent report from Rivals’ Anwar Richardson has cleared up the uncertainty surrounding Ewers’ future. According to Richardson, Ewers is still expected to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft after this season, and Texas plans to have Manning take over as the starting quarterback next year. Manning, who has appeared in eight games this season and impressed in his two starts, is committed to Texas and has no intention of transferring.

Despite this, rumors persist among college football fans that Manning should leave Texas, with some speculating a transfer to the University of North Carolina (UNC), especially after the Tar Heels hired former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Fans suggested that Manning could benefit from working with Belichick, but these rumors have been dismissed, as Manning is set to remain with Texas.

For now, Manning’s focus is on the upcoming College Football Playoff, as the Longhorns prepare for their battle against Clemson on Dec. 21, 2024.
