Alabama’s Jalen Milroe gives obvious answer on bowl game decision

Under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer, who recently appeared in the National Championship Game with Washington, the Alabama Crimson Tide finished the 2024 regular season with a 9-3 record. Although they were in contention for a College Football Playoff spot until the final weekend, SMU ultimately took the last spot in the newly-expanded 12-team field, leaving Alabama on the outside looking in.

With the Crimson Tide missing out on the playoff, many expected key players to opt out of Alabama’s bowl game. However, **veteran quarterback Jalen Milroe, a 2023 Heisman Trophy finalist, confirmed he would play in the bowl game against Michigan. Milroe’s decision reflects his commitment to finishing the season strong and leaving a lasting legacy at Alabama before moving on to the NFL.

The ReliaQuest Bowl matchup against the Wolverines presents an opportunity for Milroe to cap off his career with a victory, which would add to his already impressive Alabama legacy. With just 203 passing yards needed to surpass Mac Jones for sixth on Alabama’s all-time passing list and a chance to move up further with a standout performance, Milroe aims to end his college career on a high note. Additionally, he leads all Alabama quarterbacks in career rushing touchdowns, and a strong showing in this game could solidify his place among the best in Crimson Tide history.
