Returning to Gymnastics Training, Simone Biles Ditches ‘Prada Bob’ After Pilates Scare

Simone Biles recently debuted a striking new hairstyle—a bob, which some have dubbed the “Prada Bob”—and it definitely caught attention. Known for frequently changing her hair, Biles is unapologetic when it comes to her style, famously stating, “Don’t come for me about my hair.” This new cut marks a departure from her usual long, middle-parted look, and she seems to be fully embracing the change.

Despite the dramatic shift in her appearance, Biles isn’t just making waves with her fashion. She’s also back at Pilates, even though she has confessed it’s tough for her. Recently, she shared an Instagram story where she was wearing a black leather jacket and showcasing her sleek Pilates-ready hair. Pilates has become an essential part of her training, especially after her stunning performance at the Paris Olympics, where she won three gold medals. As the next Olympic competition draws closer, it seems Pilates might be key to her preparations for 2025, helping her stay in top form.

Biles has always been open about her challenges and her commitment to overcoming them. In one humorous Instagram post, she admitted that Pilates wasn’t easy, joking about her first workout since the Olympics and laughing at her struggle. But she quickly resumed her training, showing resilience even when faced with difficult routines. Pilates may not be her favorite workout, but she’s pushing through, embracing it as part of her ongoing journey.

When it comes to her hair, Biles is known for switching up her style just as much as she does her training routines. Though she often competes in a bun or ponytail, she has experimented with different looks over the years, including smooth blowouts, boho braids, and mermaid waves. She’s even changed her style for major events, such as a raised braid ponytail at the 2021 US Gymnastics Olympic Trials or a sophisticated braid bun at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Regardless of the occasion, Biles can adapt her hair to match her needs, making every look iconic.

Biles has faced criticism over her hair in the past, such as during the women’s gymnastics final before the Paris Olympics. When some online commentators criticized her ponytail, she responded with a strong message, explaining the difficulties she faced with the heat and lack of air conditioning during the bus ride. She also posted a reminder that people should avoid commenting on a Black woman’s hair, showing her confidence in embracing her natural beauty. Over time, she has come to love her natural hair texture and views styling it as a form of therapy, unapologetically wearing her hair however she chooses.
