Ohio State QB Will Howard Makes Announcement as College Football Season Nears End

As the 2024 college football season nears its conclusion, Ohio State quarterback Will Howard has hinted at his future plans, confirming that he will enter the 2025 NFL draft. Although Howard missed the Big Ten championship game, he is likely to play in at least one more game with Ohio State, who remains in contention for a College Football Playoff spot with a No. 6 ranking. The Playoff is set to begin on December 20, 2024.

Howard, who has had an impressive season, threw for a career-high 2,860 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions, while completing 72.3% of his passes. Additionally, he rushed for 131 yards and 7 touchdowns. His strong performance has earned him an invitation to the Senior Bowl, which is one of the early events in the pre-draft process.

Ohio State’s quarterback future looks promising, as the team has several talented young quarterbacks on the roster, including Julian Sayin, Devin Brown, and Lincoln Kienholz. The team also signed five-star recruit Tavien St. Clair, who could potentially see playing time in his freshman season.

Looking ahead to the 2025 season, there will be competition for the starting role, especially with the addition of St. Clair. Howard, currently projected as a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft according to mock drafts, will likely move on to professional football after the conclusion of Ohio State’s season.
