The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team is set to compete in Group D at the Cape Town 7s tournament in South Africa this weekend. After a disappointing performance in Dubai, where they finished 12th, the Fijiana team faces a challenging pool stage, taking on Great Britain and the USA. The team failed to secure any wins in Dubai, leaving them at the bottom of the Series standings with just one point.
On the other hand, the Fiji men’s 7s team heads to Cape Town in a much stronger position. They currently sit at the top of the men’s standings with 20 points after their impressive performance in Dubai. The team is grouped with Great Britain and Uruguay in the Cape Town tournament.
In the overall Series standings, Spain follows closely behind Fiji in second place with 18 points, while Argentina is in third with 16 points after defeating New Zealand in the Dubai 7s third-place playoff. France occupies fifth position with 12 points, South Africa is in sixth with 10 points, and Australia sits in seventh place after earning eight points in Dubai.
